Error message installing ICE - missing DLL (Image Composite Editor) RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I am Dutch so my English can be a little bit incorrect...

By installing the msi-file of ICE (Image Composite Editor) do I get the following error message:

'There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A DLL required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor.'

What can I do to solve this?

I use Windows 8.1 (64-bit), so I have chosen the 64-bit version to install the program.

    Already thanks for your answer!

  • I have the same problem.  I will also note that I seem to have this problem with a lot, if not all MSI installers.  When I install an EXE installer, I usually have to right click and choose "Run as Administrator" for it to work.  I think there in lies the problem, as MSI files can't do that.  So... not sure how to fix.  I have UAC turned off, not sure if that's what causes this.
