Pipeline Phase field issue with translations RRS feed

    In CRM 2013, we have Sales pipeline funnel chart on dashboard.

    The legends shown on this funnel use a field called Pipeline Phase. This field mirrors the Sales Category. That is, it whatever stage is selected on opportunity process flow, the same is auto updated in Pipeline Phase field with a number prefix. For eg, 1-New Opportunity, 2-Qualify, etc.

    This auto update (mirroring) is done by CRM through a background process, and over which we have no control I think. Now my problem is we have another language translations for Stage Category values, and we need the same ones to be shown on chart legends. However, because legends use Pipeline Phase field which is auto updated by CRM, the translations of Stage Category are not considered. So even a non-english user would see legends in english. 

    It is quite likely that when this auto-update is done, CRM only considers the English translation of the Stage category and ignores the other translation. So the Pipeline Phase field is updated only with the English translation and the legends (which is nothing but Pipeline Phase) also show up in English.

    I would like to believe that this is as an bug left open by Microsoft. If they are auto updating Pipeline Phase field and use it in funnels, shouldn't they somehow update the Pipeline Phase field with translation considered?

    Has anybody else come across this? Or am I missing something?

  • Finally I found someone with exactly the same problem as me. The Pipeline Phase field has a description where is says it is updated by a workflow. This workflow is not visible in the Processes overview.

    I can make another workflow, where I update the Pipeline Phase field with the Category Stage field name. This will not give the prefix number, which sorts the funnel in process order.

    The bug is in both CRM 2013 and 2015.

    How did you solve this?

    I have the same problem. Our base language is finnish and I have downloaded an english language pack and made all custom field translations to english. When I change the UI language to english and start creating a lead everything is fine and the hole business process and stages (lead and opportunity stages) is shown correct in english. When I start creating straight from the opportunity the language doesn´t change. We are using CRM 2015 online.

    Did anyone find solution to this problem?
