Project trial version says Office Sharepoint trial is NOT a trial version! ??? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Project server trial version complains that the trial version of Office Sharepoint server is a licensed registered copy and so refuses to install.

How do I convince Project that Sharepoint is a trial version also?  Very strange!

Everything is a trial version:  Windows Server 2008 trail, Sharepoint 2007, and if I can get it going, Project as well.  There's absolutely no non-trial software on the thing.  Does it count the SQL Server Express that Sharepoint installed as 'registered'??  There's nothing I can do about that!

Thanks for any help; I really need to start testing with this ASAP.

  • "Project server" is an add-on for Sharepoint and has no forum of its own so you boot questions for it to neverland?  Thanks for the help!  I thought I'd try MS Project since Project.Net was hard to install and hard to get support.  Looks like help is about the same and one product doesn't cost anything.

I'd be a little less cranky if there actually was a sticky titled 'which forum...'  but it is not on the front page for the off-topic posts forum.

  • I would look to a project server forum for help on this.

Paul (yes, Içm still on holiday - Inet Cafe)), there is no Project Server forum. People are requested to post Project server questions to the Project Server newsgroups - see my "which forum ... " sticky post at the top of this forum.
