Export to Excel

Question
-
CRM experts,
Export Data to Excel only provides me to save to one option, Excel 97 - 2003. This is odd because my computer is W7, with office 2010. Anyone know if there is a setting to allow it to save to a later version?
Thanks so much for any tips here,
Earl Stoddard...

Hi,
Dynamics CRM Export to excel only export data into Excel 2003 XML Spreadsheet format to make it compatible with Office 2003/2007 and 2010. There is no supported way to change the export file format while exporting data. What you can do is after exporting data you can open the excel file in Office 2010 Excel and then can Save As the file in Office 2010 file format.

No. There isn't an option to export to the newer version of office. But at least the newer version of office works with the older file type.

That just looked odd, being it is Microsoft, that they would use an older version in their export function.
Thanks so much...That makes sense.
