Merger PS RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all,

We currently have two different Project Server setups for different business units and now wanting to merge them into one environment only.

One PS setup is not heavily used, but contains fair amount of data and we thought of taking this data and merging into the heavily used environment which has a lot of data.

I have been looking at ways to do this in our non production environment, but articles read on TechNet so far doesn't seem to have anything on this. Everything seems to point to environment DB refreshes, which will wipe the current data.

Unless I have been reading wrong sections :-)

    Have I missed something?

Is there a way to do the merger without deleting current environment data? Please don't tell me it's a manual process?!?!? :-)

Also we will consider any third party tool if there are any out there that does this.

    Thanks in advance!

    Regards,

  • Hi,

(Quite difficult to read your question with such a huge font size...)

You could follow the following procedure:

    http://www.projectserverblog.com/2011/04/merging-2-instances-of-project-server.html

Note also that the same company released a tool (fluent book) which allows merging PWA instances.

    Hope this helps,

  • How interesting...I didn't see the font issue. Maybe I am using chrome! :-o

Have noticed that Gary fixed the font which apparently seemed to fine when I clicked submit and post submission.

Thank you once again Guillaume for the information provided! Certainly is very helpful

    regards,

    SJ
