Photo Browsing RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi, I store all my photos on my WHS and wanted a recommendation for a desktop photo viewer to browse these photos.  I currently use Windows Live photo view and Picasa however both have issues keeping the index of photos up to date on my laptop which is wirelessly connected to the home network.  The program sees the WHS photos as a mapped network drive.  Most of the time the index of photos in the photo application is slow to load or imcomplete.  I guess i'm looking for a view that caches the index.

What does everyone here use for photo viewing and is my problem unique?  Thanks

  • No, your problem isn't unique. There aren't a lot of affordable digital asset management tools that will do what you want (none, as far as I know, that are really affordable ). I use Adobe Lightroom; it has the same basic issue with network catalogs but the workflow features are a lifesaver for a professional photographer (even a part-time pro like me).
I'm not on the WHS team, I just post a lot. :)
