Windows 7 Not Genuin -After 6mths of use-New Sealed In box Box Copy RRS feed

  • Question

  • I upgraded my pc from Vista to Windows 7 ULTIMATE  Oct/2010. (I ran both OS on 2 hard drives on the same PC until I became comfortable letting Windows 7 become my sole replacement for 1-2 months). I was pleased....until I got "Windows 7 build 7600 not genuine "messages 6moths later.

I must have purchase the best ever Win7 Ultimate- Full version counterfeit ever made, because it came in seal-wrapped in MS box, inside a MS case, with MS Bar Code label sealing the case, and had the  MS fancy anti copy stickers/labels/disks inside and out(both 32/64 bit disks included), and the famous and reliable MS Product key safely inside.   MS should hire this con if he has that much talent and has access to the same materials/equipment and able to market Microsoft's' Flagship product to all the other suckers MS has missed in their campaign to conquer/own the world.

How do I fix my problem?

I am not buying a new OS from MS that is for sure. I will go back to my Win XP first (Vista was a waste of money and wasn't worth the effort .

I would like to ship my copy to WIN7 Ultimate to MS and get verification in writing that it is not a genuine MS product.  If the product key is no longer valid, I would like a new one or a refund on the WINDOWS 7 Product MS claims they own.

I also know mine is the best counterfeit because I called MS to activate and verify it and they couldn't even tell me it wasn't legit. (I wonder what has happened in the last 6mths?)  I am expecting my mortgage holder to show up at my door any moment and tell me I don't actually own my home, I've just been renting all these years.

When I go to "change" the Key Code in Windows,  the currently active code does not match the one I originally activated with. When I put in the original KC nothing happens.  I have tried reactivating, changing, codes, updating Win, rebooting from the activation disk, and MS CS only stated they werent tech support and suggested I call back when "IM AT WORK " M-F weekdays.

I Called MS Support when and they actitvated the product key and verifed the OS at that time.  (no I have a" not genuine alert"  and MS wants me to buy another OS !

  • In order to determine the status of your windows ultimate please read the first announcement at the top of this forum and post your mga diagnostic report. You should also read the stickies at the top of this forum.

The counterfeiters have gotten very good. They are manufacturing near perfect looking products.

I hope you didn't buy it from ebay or the like as they appear to be always counterfeit.

  • Next step would be to purchase a genuine "Full Version" edition of Windows 7 and perform a "clean install".  Unfortunately, the current installed copy of Windows 7 Ultimate is an unauthorized, pirated "not-for-resale" MSDN Subscription license.  You can purchase genuine Microsoft Windows 7 from the Microsoft Store.

  • As Carey says, you have been sold a counterfeit copy of Windows.  Out of laziness I will give my standard blurb.

Your Product ID line shows that you are using an MSDN product key.  Unless you are the subscriber who was issued this product key, it is invalid for your use.

    Windows Product ID: 00426-068-0285481-8644

The 068 is the MSDN indicator.  If you purchased a retail box the entire box and its contents is a counterfeit product.  Many counterfeit copies are being sold on eBay and the Amazon Marketplace as well as various websites around the world.  The product key is not a genuine retail PK.  It is a genuine MSDN product key and so will activate and pass as genuine until it is blocked by Microsoft as an MSDN key in use by a nonsubscriber.  It takes a while for MS to detect and complete processing of abused keys.  The seller plans to be doing something else by then.

Pursue a refund for an item not as described immediately.  Do not accept a replacement product key from the seller.  It will be from the same source.

Report the incident to Microsoft at

    http://www.microsoft.com/howtotell/reports/report.aspx

To see how good these knock-offs are becoming, see

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hzqNNiOM0cs

Buy a copy of Windows from a rock solid seller like the Microsoft Store or Amazon Corp (not an affiliate).
