Remote access shared folders RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

The default shared folders of windows home server are setup on installation. Once you add a new hard drive to your pc that is full of your stuff you have to format it in the server console before you can use it which is quite ridiculous. So what I done was I found out a way to bypass this and that was to share files from the secondary drive that has just been added but isn't actually added in the server console. Say you are sharing your music on the primary drive and it is called 'Music' if you go to share the folder entitled 'Music' on the secondary drive it will give you an error saying this folder already exists, would you like to share E(The secondary drive):\Music instead?'

It then overwrites. If you have shared this on the remote access site, you will then get this error:

Windows Home Server Remote Access has encountered an error.
