Unable to activate a subscription RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have buyed a OneCare subscription and I am not able to activate this subscription.
I have tried to remove one care, runed the OneCare clean up program, and followed the method suggested to reinstall OneCare.

At the end I have always the same answer : It seams that you're subscription is no more activ.

I tried the RemoveMachine tool and it does not run on my computer

How can I activate my subscription ?

How can I have my money back and I will install another Anti Virus program?

  • You might need to check if the time and date setting of your computer is correct.

Verify if a subscribe, renew, or activate button is available on your onecare main screen.

You might need to sign-in to onecare using the Live ID you use when you purchased your subscription.

To verify what Live ID you have used to purchase your subscription. You can sign-in to https://billing.microsoft.com check which Live ID has your onecare subscription.

If none of this applies to the problem you are having, feel free to contact support.

  • Metraill,

Thank you for contacting the Live OneCare program forum. Here is another option for you. Once you have verified that you have removed as much of the OneCare program from you computer as you can, go to the following link:

Once there, click Full Service Scan

Read the Service Agreement and click Accept if you accept the terms of use

It should say "Loading Scanning Tools"

    Then click Customize...

Uncheck all of the boxes with the exception of the Registry cleaner scan (make sure this box is checked) and the Disk cleanup scan (make sure this box is checked too)

    Then click Next

Follow all th prompts to clean your registry out all of your uninstalled programs where remnants are left behind. Then reboot. When you get to a desktop, open Internet Explorer and go to the following link:

    Download and reinstall the program.

Thank you for contacting the Live OneCare program forum.

  • Metraill,

I apologize for taking such a long time to respond. Been away for sometime.

You can try optimizing you browser.

Open Internet Explorer, go to Tools, Internet Options.

On the General Tab, Under Browsing History section, click on the Delete button, choose to delete all.

Then go to the Advanced Tab, choose to reset IE settings to default.

Then try again if you can reach support.
