Error installing CRM 4.0 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I am trying to install CRM 4.0. I am getting the following error:"Action Microsoft.crm.setup.server.addserviceaccount to sqlaccessgroupaction failed. General access denied error"

And in the event viewer, the error is: "Open failed: Could not open file E:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.1\MSSQL\DATA\OrgName_MSCRM.mdf for file number 0.  OS error: 2(The system cannot find the file specified.)."

How can i solve this error?

    Thanks in advance

  • Exact same procedure. Just type the name of the server instead of the user.

  • Few more questions:

1- Are you logged in as the local admin with access to AD?
2- Does the install fail and stop or does it complete?

  • Yes i am logged as a local admin with access to AD.

As for the install, it fails and stops.

  • Try adding the CRM Server to the SQLAccessGroup manually in AD and then try doing the install again.
    Let me know the outcome.

    thanks,
    Hassan.

  • MS CRM creates 4 security groups in your active directory. Please read details below.

Please try adding your MS CRM Server. to the PrevSQL group.
