getting 404 error from internet on remote access RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi, I have a problem with connecting to WHS 2011 from internet. My router is right configured to forward ports 80 and 443 to server. If i connecting to server from intranet (but using *.homeserver.com address) everything is fine. Problem starts when i connecting from internet - server correctly ask me for login information, and after successfull login it open normally Remote screen for some second, but very fast browser regedict to 404 not found.

Other problem is, that I can't find any error in server logs.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks Tom

  • Okay - i found some new things. First of all - this problem is only in Opera browser (desktop and Mobile version (Mini i didn't tested)).

When i changed Opera's User Agent String to firefox, everything works fine. So I did some tests and I recognized, that smallest user agent is like "User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 Firefox/5.0" If i try to change for example to Firefox to Opera it fails.

So this look's like there can be some file of supported browsers ?

    Still nobody with similar problem?

So there can be some fix possibilities:

    1. Change User Agen in Opera (but not possible in mobile browser)
    2. Teoretical - try to change header in IIS before process (Is it possible??)
    3. Try to hack code and find the problem
