Syncing stopped half way through

Question

Hello,
I have two computers (Vista 32bit and Windows 7 RC) syncing. I am not syncing with the Live Desktop. I setup a sync containing about 30GB of photos. Mesh created all of the folders for it on the computer where I want the files to go, and has copied all of the files for about 75% of the folders. However, the remaining 5-6 folders of photos are not coming across (the folders are there, but no files in side of them.)
I have waited a number of hours, but nothing has showed up in the news, and nothing is coming across. I have tried switching to "Working Offline" and then switching back, as wel as shutting down Mesh and turning it back on, with no results.
Any ideas?Wednesday, July 29, 2009 5:11 AM

The best that I can suggest is for you to submit a bug report with logs from both machines. Instructions are here:
How to Submit Bugs and Live Mesh Logs
It is certainly possible that the remaining files will begin to sync after a reboot of one or both machines, but the fact that it stalled at all is reason enough for a bug report.
Personally, with that amount of data and only using P2P sync, I'd copy the files manually and then let Live Mesh sync changes - of course, assuming that there's not some other issue preventing the sync of those folders.

I've been getting that for about a week now and getting quite irritated - Mesh simply doesn't work. It seems to work OK if I move all my subfolders elsewhere, then one by one move them back into the Mesh folder and wait for it to sync before moving the next one in. Takes days of my time. Any number of people seem to have reported issues like this and uploaded their logs... still not fixed.
What a great way to introduce Mac users to the Windows world - if it doesn't work perfectly before you introduce them, how much more stick do you think MS are going to get? Pity - Mesh, if the basics actually worked, would be brilliant.Sunday, August 9, 2009 8:49 AM -
davidt1234, it *is* a beta. In fact, it's a "preview" and there will be updates. There will also be bugs. So, please submit a bug report with logs following the instructions in the post above yours. I'm sorry that it isn't working for you without headaches.
