  • Update: figuring that the Tanjay phone is using login similar to automatic configuration setting for login on OC client, I determined from Event Viewer it was trying to resolve sipexternal.[my sip domain].com.  sipexternal. is due to partial Edge installation, so per http://forums.microsoft.com/unifiedcommunications/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=1755598&SiteID=57 I added DNS A record so it could resolve (at least until Edge is finished).

Anyway, Tanjay phone has located OCS server and is attempting to download certificate, but gives error "cannot validate server certificate".

Does anyone know why on internal connection, OC client/Tanjay phone would not try to resolve based on _sipinternaltls instead of sipexternal.[sip domain].com, per the documentation below?

    Client DNS Queries

During DNS lookup, SRV records are queried in the following order:

    ·         _sipinternaltls._tcp.domain - for internal TLS connections

    ·         _sipinternal._tcp.domain - for internal TCP connections (performed only if TCP is allowed)

    ·         _sip._tls.domain - for external TLS connections

    ·         _sip._tcp.domain - for external TCP connections

If the first query succeeds, the client uses that first record and does not continue querying for any other SRV records.
