  • Question

  • Hello, I currently have Windows 7 Configuration (70-680) MCTS but am taking Windows 8 Comfiguration (70-687) MCSA. The question is does this give me a MCITP or do i still need to do another Windows 8 Qualification in order to gain it? Thanks in advanced! Aaron

  • No this won't give you MCITP.

For Windows 7 you would need also need to do exam 70-685 which would give you the MCITP: Enterprise Desktop Support Technician on Windows 7 certification or exam 70-686 which would give you the MCITP: Enterprise Desktop Administrator on Windows 7 certification.  Doing both 685 and 686 would also give you the MCSA: Windows 7 certification.

There is no MCITP certification for Windows 8.  You would need to look at MCSA: Windows 8.

  • Hi Aaron,

Passing 70-687 does not confer any specific certification on its own. However, if passed along with 70-688, then you become an MCSA: Windows 8. Good luck.

  • Brilliant! Thank you for your help :) With Windows 8 it becomes confusing what accreditation you actually get. What do you get from the (70-687) Windows 8 Configuration then? Regards Aaron
