  • HCL also provides some courses on .NET and other technologies.

If any HCL office is near to your home, then you can contact them.

  • Hello Harshil,

    Thanks buddy for your appreciation.

You can also work as a freelancer no doubt. Well, I am 20 years old, now in 3rd year of my B. E. ECE. (Surprised!) I have been working as a freelancer from last two years.

I work in two ways actually:

    1) In Open Source projects: Here money is not the aim. Rather to server the community and zeast to give back from my side is of atmost importance. Here for example, I am tester for UBUNTU and in official team of Fedora Core Project etc etc....

    2) As a Freelancer Professional. :  I charge companies for my consultancy. I provide them my services. The main service I provide them is like Business Implementation of IT, training for their employees/managers,as a programmer,  Audits etc etc.....

Freelancing brings a lot of freedom but there are some cons also with this........

I have written a weblog entry for this you can see at :  www.m3xian.org/blog

In case anyone want to contact for this regards or have any project to work on, Open Source or Closed one either, do let me know. Contact me at my email :  m3xian@hotmail.com

    Wish you all luck.

  • Thanks dude. I will surely read your blog now.
Btw how much earnings can one make as a newbie freelancer. I know its dependent on the talent, but just an idea about it would be good.

  • Hi Harshil,

You are very correct to say that it all depends on the telent that one posses. But there are a few more points that also does matter.

The clients: you MUST have a good client base to get nice sum of money as well as work. Otherwise one wont get any chance to show his telent.

Contacts: Those who can refer you to a a good company or firm. As much as possible but quality also matters with quantity.

There are many more factors which drives a freelancer like his english skills, as now a days most of work comes from abroad/ MNC's so if he can communicate with them it will be an added advantage.

In a typical case a computer freelancer can expect to earn around (Just an idea!) Rs.10,000-15,000  in starting and this can go upto 50,000 per month after gaining a level of expertise. But this is just an indicative. As I told you I work for free also in some cases like social issues. An example is PETA where I work for fully free.
