  • Question

  • 1. When I have my other two or one of  my laptops off, the one I am on puts my windows live one care in the red and says that one of the other computers does not have protection turned on. How can I keep the one that is on in green when I am not using the others?

    2. My laptop crashed last night and when it came back I am in the yellow with a message to go on line for help. Well HELP!

  • Hello, Susiepogo.

For problem number 1, see this thread - http://forums.microsoft.com/WindowsOneCare/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=2525334&SiteID=2

I have no idea why this happens, but it appears to be a communication problem between the monitored PC and the hub where the shut down causes the incorrect status to be reported to the hub. There is no definitive solution, but some people have reported that reinstalling on the monitored PC and/or the hub PC resolved their problem, You can contact support for help if you don't want to jump into reinstalling. Of course, you can also choose to stop the PC from being a Hub, so it doesn't report the status of the other PCs.

For the second problem, when OneCare is in yellow status, opening OneCare should tell you what "action to take" is required to get back to green. What does OneCare say in the main dialog when you open it on the laptop?
