Communicator Web Access desktop sharing issue RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,
    I am currently setting up a Communicator Web Access Server.I am stuck at Communicator Web Access Server configuration. The problem occurs when using the CWA client from within the internal network.

    Instant messages and desktop sharing are working fine from:
    - OCS Communicator 2007 to OCS Communicator 2007
    - Communicator Web Access to OCS Communicator 2007
    - OCS Communicator 2007 to Communicator Web Access
    Instant messages are working but desktop sharing does not from:
    - Communicator Web Access to Communicator Web Access

    IE is complaining about a certificate error.
    "Content was blocked because it was not signed by a valid security certificate."

    I already renewed all certificates needed. I seperated MTLS cert and SSL cert but nothing helps to resolve this issue.

    Does anyone have an idea? Thanks in advance.

  • What is the URL of your CWA server?
    You must also include the download.cwaserver.domain.com and as.cwaserver.domain.com in the certificate of CWA

  • Hi,
    CWA server name is: vmocs2007r2.vmdomain
    CWA URL is: https://im.vmdomain/

    I created a certificate (sn: im.vmdomain , san:im.vmdomain, as.im.vmdomain, download.im.vmdomain, vmocs2007r2.vmdomain) which was rejected from installation wizard because FQDN does not match
    That is why i created the following:
    sn: vmocs2007r2.vmdomain , san:im.vmdomain, as.im.vmdomain, download.im.vmdomain, vmocs2007r2.vmdomain

    and the following dns entries:
    A record: im.vmdomain -> 192.168.22.107
    CNAME record: as.im.vmdomain -> im.vmdomain.
    CNAME record: download.im.vmdomain -> im.vmdomain.
    CNAME record: vmocs2007r2.im.vmdomain -> im.vmdomain.

    Note: Communicator Web Access URL and CWA Server FQDN are not the same
    and CWA Server and OCS Server are on same machine

  • Are you saying that you are using vmdomain as your AD Domain?
    This is a single label domain and that is not supported for OCS!

  • Yes, vmdomain is my ad domain.

    When single label domain is not supported, why does every service work fine, except desktop sharing?
