complaint windows 10 update

Question
-
I updated Windows 10 last night. This morning I was told that my Excel 2007 files are corrupt. They were working fine before the update. These files include all the work I've done on my 2015 taxes as well as my budget. If I can't get back to them, I will have wasted many hours of work. I am really unhappy. Does anyone know a fix for this? I am also unhappy that Microsoft is so reluctant to post meaningful ways to get in touch with them.

I'd try ask over here: http://www.tenforums.com/ at the Installation and Setup section. Btw, this probably means you don't have back-ups of the Excel files, right?
