Primary/Seconday Mouse Button setting isn't used RRS feed

  • Question

  • My mom's left-handed so in XP I flipped her mouse settings to "Switch Primary and Secondary buttons". While other apps preserve this setting, I noticed that in the WHS console, the primary click is still a left-click instead of what should be a right-click for her. Imagine trying to explain that to your mom! For what it's worth, the title bar uses the switched setting fine, but anything inside the WHS console window appears to disregard. Is there some sort of fix available for this?

    Thanks,
    Henry

  • Henry, this is effectively "by design", and is a result of how the console is displayed on a client computer. The Windows Home Server console is an application which runs on the server; it's displayed on a local computer through a Remote Desktop connection with the server. Display and user interface settings made on the client don't carry through a Remote Desktop connection, so in order to change the mouse buttons you will have to do so directly on the server (and not through the console).
I'm not on the WHS team, I just post a lot. :)
