Problem with CRM 4.0 Service Activity RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hey All,

This is a clean load of CRM 4.0 installed on SBS 2003 that is 2 days old and untouched apart from account and contact imports. When i'm tring to create a service activity with just basic information when I click save I get a pop up saying "The requested record was not found or you do not have sufficient permissions to view it" (on a user with system admin security settings) I can click ok which brings up a window saying there is a "General failure in the scheduling engine" where I can click schedule

Doing this brings up the Schedule Service Activity box where my Customer feild is filled in along with Service and the resource (in this case a user), when I click find available times it get the same "The requested record was not found or you do not have sufficient permissions to view it"

I'm sure its something stupid as I'm fairly new to CRM 4.0 but I've looked over everything and cant see whats wrong, the error message isnt very helpful either.

  • Actually *smacks head* another admin just rolled out update 4 for crm4 which seems to have fixed it.

I could have sworn that Crm4 installed its updates during the setup process.

    Thanks for your help Tiaan

  • when you imported the data to accounts and contacts was is relational data?(was the relationships created when importing?)

    for a test!

create another user and give it admin rights and try it again?

  • There was, contacts were linked to accounts.

I've just attempted the same thing logged into the main server using the administrator account which worked, am very confused now.

  • That's great! CRM does not install the rollups with the application. It is up to you to manually install it. In CRm 3.0 you had to install all rollups.CRM 4.0 you just have to install the latest. Glad you got sorted!

  • I had modified my workspace and unchecked Marketing and checked Scheduling. This caused the issue mentioned in this thread.
By removing these items and putting it back to how it was, cured it for me.
    Its a bug!
