FYI: One of the most annoying problems with LiveWriter is the appearance of escaped html special characters when uploading to TypePad. The blog post cannot be published without removing the escaped characters and thus requires an additional log-on to fix the problem in draft mode. This precludes simply publishing a blog entry upon upload if you use any special characters like quotes, ellipsis, etc. I have mentioned this prior to this beta version and the matter has not been resolved by either LW or typepad.
Typepad's recent reply ...
Windows Live Writer converts special characters in the Post Title field. However, the Post Title field is Plain Text in TypePad causing the conflicts. We have reported this issue, and we will work with Windows Live Writer to resolve the problem.
So it now looks like a typepad issue and should be handled in the LW interface code in the next release. Or by typepad converting the escaped html to plain text before display or posting.
Someone needs to make that first phone call. Thanks.
