    Question

  • Hi,

I am getting the error above for some reason. I tried the fixes in the other threads involving running cscript etc, rebooting twice, but no fix results.  Is this a problem with my hard drive?

Here is the result from MSDIAG:

I originally purchased this PC about 4 years ago and it had Vista installed - wondering why it would freak out now. is it because I installed different hardware? If so, that's not a valid reason to kill my windows license.

At some point you would appear to have changed the motherboard – the one in the report is a retail one.
Changing the motherboard in an OEM-installed machine invalidates the license, unless done under warranty conditions.
You will have to purchase a Full Retail copy of Windows  - I would suggest Windows 7 Home Basic or Home Premium – from a reputable dealer.
