How to add websites to the OneCare firewall exceptions list RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I have Windows Vista Home Premium OS on my lap top. While checking for updates I receive the message that Windows Update cannot check for updates because of error 80072ee2. In Windows Help and Support I found that if I use a different firewall than Windows Firewall I have to refer to the software publisher's help to see how to add these websites to my firewall exceptions list:

    http://*.update.microsoft.com

    https://*.update.microsoft.com

    http://download.windowsupdate.com.

As I use OneCare firewall I tried to add these sites to the exceptions list. But I can't find such list in the firewall settings dialog box. I wander if it is possible to add sites at all.

    What to do?

  • To expand on Jim's reply, there is no facility to add sites to the OneCare firewall. OneCare allows or blocks applications and protocols/ports. So, the cause of the problem isn't OneCare's firewall.
