  • Hi,

Check CRM Applicaiton Pool (In IIS go Applicaiton Pools->CRMAppPool) and checks it identity if it is set to Local Service then set it to CRM the domain account which has local administrative and CRM database administrative privileges (for testing you can set crm admin account) if the doe snot solve problem then try enable traces and get exact error details: http://mscrmtools.blogspot.com/2011/02/enable-trace-in-microsoft-dynamics-crm.html

  • It might really be just an access denied error due to a mismapping of users when you re-imported the organization. You might need to remove and re-import the org using a different mapping method in the wizard.

  • Problem is that my first server is down, so I can not re import anything from there.
The only thing I can do on second server is let the installation creates a new Organisation from the Deploiement.

what do you mean by re import organisation ? do you mean my SQL backup ?

I I let CRM installation Create the Organisation_CRM sql database, I can brws to it with http://myserver:5555 without any trouble BUT the main problem is that the database is empty and I would like to take my database backup instead.

    How should I proceed?

Pleasse not that I am not an expert in CRM so far

    thnaks for help

    regards

  • It sounds like you're trying use a backup taken from one CRM deployment, and apply it onto a separate deployment. If this is the case, it is not sufficient just to restore the MSCRM database. You will also need to import the database as a new organisation so that the data (user mapping, and organisation data) is correct for this deployment. The steps to take are:

    1. If you already have a CRM organisation with this organisation's name in the destination deployment, delete this organisation via Deployment Manager
    2. Restore the MSCRM database
    3. Import the MSCRM database as an organisation via Deployment Manager

  • Thnaks for your reply, I have effectlively in that case.

I have now a brand new CRM server installed on Server 2 with a Diaplay Name as CRMSolatys, different name as in initial deploiement on server 1 which is broken.
The backup I have in hand comes from a deploiement with name SOLATYSCRM

In order to be sure I cath the setsp to continue.

    You ask me to :

1 - Delete the CRM deployement created from the fresh installation

2- Restore the MSCRM data base, you mean MSCRM_CONFIG from Server 1 ?

3- Import the SOLATYSCRM_MSCRM database from deployement of Server 1 ?

    correct?

    thnaks for help

  • Hi,

I would suggest you to reffer the steps mention in the TechNet CRM 2011 Move Deployment to New CRM Server (see section: Redeploy the Microsoft Dynamics CRM deployment that includes the Microsoft Dynamics CRM Server 2011 within the same domain or to another domain) Step by Step Guide:http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg554682.aspx

  • Hello,

    I am one steps further.

I have install a fresh CRM server with reporting extension and verify that everything works ok within that new installation.
So all works fine except the created database is empty.

Now what I am trying to do is importing the previous deployement on my new install from the same domain.
For that I am using the Import organisation wizard from deployement manager tool.

I manage to reach and define correctly the mapping of users.
Then the wizard is proceeding to some validation checking.

    Organisation validation is OK
    SQL server validation is OK

When comes to reportiing services validation it fails with the following error :

Setup failed to validate specified Reporting Services Report Server http://solatys-home/ReportServer. Error: Error occurred while finding an item on the report server.
The report server cannot open a connection to the report server database. A connection to the database is required for all requests and processing. ---> Microsoft.ReportingServices.Diagnostics.Utilities.ReportServerDatabaseUnavailableException: The report server cannot open a connection to the report server database. A connection to the database is required for all requests and processing. ---> System.Exception: For more information about this error navigate to the report server on the local server machine, or enable remote errors

If I access the reporting server with the URL in a browser, I cann access it without any trouble.

Any idea what could be the reason of that vlidation failure on RSS ?

    thnaks for help
    regards

    Serge
