Office 2007 not genuine- Please I need help to understand why RRS feed

  • Question

  • Good morning,

I had my computer since 2-3 years. Since a few months when I use a Microsoft Office 2007 program it says that my copy is not original. I don’t think it’s possible because I bought it just installed on the PC and I have the original CD bought with the computer. I try to solve this problem using the passages explicated on the web site where Office connect me and obviously I failed. But when I verified if my Windows XP Professional is original it says that it is. It’s possible to have a Windows XP Professional original and a Office 2007 that is not, if I bought both of them to the same place and in the same time, just installed on the PC? Why only after 3 years appear that my Office is not original? How I can prove that my Office is original?

I change country for 2 times (Spain and Italy) and city for 3 times in the last 3 years.

I read that a diagnostic could be help to find the problem so I paste it below.

Thanks for your help and sorry for my horrible english

  • Hello Peapo,

Here is a snippet of your mgadiag report:

    OGA Data-->
    Office Status: 103 Blocked VLK
Microsoft Office Enterprise 2007 - 103 Blocked VLK
    OGA Version: Registered, 2.0.48.0
    Signed By: Microsoft
    Office Diagnostics: 025D1FF3-230-1_E2AD56EA-765-d003_E2AD56EA-766-0_E2AD56EA-134-80004005

The report is telling us that your installation of Office Enterprise 2007 on your computer is a nongenuine installation.  It is a volume licensing installation that was done with a now-Blocked Volume Licensing Key.  Volume Licensing Keys are blocked by Microsoft when the original owner of the Key reports to Microsoft that they key has been lost, stolen, or compromised to the internet, or blocked by Microsoft if it notices an abuse of the Key, as in many more installations using the Key that originally authorized.  Keys are also Blocked when the relevant Volume Licensing Agreement is ended.

So it is possible to have genuine Office installation discs, but if the license type is not for retail use and the product key, which belonged to some other organization, is now blocked, you have a nongenuine installation of Office.

This installation of Office Enterprise 2007 is not Nongenuine because you have moved around a lot.  It would be nongenuine if you had never moved.

Normally, legitimate users of Volume Licensing editions of Office are associated with larger business, educational, or governmental organizations.  If that's you, please contact your organization's IT support staff for further assistance.

If your use of this installation of Office Enterprise 2007 is not associated with a larger business, educational, or governmental organization, and you purchased the installed copy of Office Enterprise 2007 thinking that it was a retail license to be sold to individual consumers, it is likely that you are a victim of software piracy or counterfeiting.  As an individual consumer, you should never have been sold Volume Licensing (VL) materials such as the VL installation disc, and you certainly should not have received a Blocked Product Key for Office Enterprise 2007.  You should have been sold Genuine retail licensed software.

If so, your first course of action is to confront your seller with this information and demand a full refund.  If the seller refuses to help, please file a piracy report at www.microsoft.com/piracy.  Also, depending upon whether you received "high quality" counterfeit materials, you may qualify for the Office Complimentary Offer or for the Office Genuine Advantage discounted offer.  Please see the FAQ here:  http://www.microsoft.com/genuine/downloads/FAQ.aspx?displaylang=en#ID0EKNAC  If you think that you qualify for the Genuine Office Offer, apply for the Offer thru the Learn More Online link that the OGA Notifier is displaying.

One other possibility is that at one time your computer did have a Genuine installation of Office installed, but for some reason it was replaced with the current installation which is nongenuine.  This could have happened if you took your computer to a repair shop and they reinstalled Windows and/or some or all of your programs.  You Get Genuine once again by uninstalling the current nongenuine installation of Office and using your Genuine Microsoft hologrammed Office installation CDs, along with the genuine Product Key found on your Office Edition's Certificate of Authenticity, of if a retail package, on the yellow-orange Proof of License label inside the package, to put back the genuine installation of Office you may have already had on the computer.

Regarding Windows XP, does the computer have a Certificate of Authenticity (CoA) affixed to it?  Does the CoA have Windows XP Professional printed on it, and OEM Product or OEM Software printed on it?  (Don't post the product key.)
