How to implement filter lists in SPD? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi. We have a locked down SharePoint environment in the form of SharePoint Online. I want to implement a filter form for a List View Web Part, filtering on 3 different columns. In this case "Supplier", "Type" and "Part Number".

Each filter is to use a drop down list, populated with the column values from the List View Web Part.

Is there a way to implement this functionality using no code in SharePoint Designer? It is not apparent how to do this.

    Thanks.

  • SPD questions go to Design/Customization rather than to the Programming forum.

However that is for normal SharePoint.

SharePoint Online has its own forums here

  • Hi Mike. I understand your logic for removing my post but let me clarify why I posted for your future reference.

I frequently post to the SharePoint Online forum. The nature of the questions in that forum refer specifically to feature differences between SharePoint on-premises - for example, the different "sign in" experience that SharePoint Online offers.

However, SharePoint Online has a lot of similaraties to SharePoint on-premises, particularly with no-code workflows and SharePoint Designer support. So it makes sense to post in the SharePoint on-premises forums because that is where the bulk of the experience and footfall is.

If you have any queries on this please post back here.

I have reposted to the SharePoint design and customisation forum.
