  • I bought my cpu from cercuit city durring there cloce out. It had windows live one loaded on to it, but someone has there e-mail associated to it, I tried to remove it and put my e-mail (deleted) butnow it says and (understaning) that im not associated with this one care account and I must sighn up for my own... Now my current supsciption was good untill 8-7-09 and it is already on my cpu. do I need to start al over or can I just renew. also it now says its nolonger active on my cpu now that i changes or tried to change the e-mail..

  • You will need to contact support to get the LiveID reset that CircuitCity had set up for your OneCare subscription. If you still have the paperwork from that sale, they should have given you the LiveID (email address) and password for your subscription. You cannot change the LiveID to your email address, since you do not have a subscription for that email address.

    I'll add that you do not need to renew since your subscription will get a free 6 month extension (see the announcement at the top of this forum)

    If you have the LiveID and password from Circuit City, you can re-activate.

  • I do not have any of the paper work this was there diplay model and the sold it to me as is... also you mentioned 6 month extention how do i get that. and also what is the phone # to support or there e-mail?

  • At this point, I believe that you need to get the LiveID reset to be able to activate your installed copy. Once you know the LiveID and password, you can go to https://billing.microsoft.com and sign in to see your subscription status. My previous post includes the link to the FAQ for how to reach support - via email as a "trial" user since you cannot validate your subscription at this point.
