Inactivated users and emails from project server RRS feed

  • Question

  • When a resource is marked inactive and no longer availble for assigning to tasks, will the system cease attempting to send emails to this person each time a project they were previously assigned is re-published?   We've had folks leave our organziation and I continue to receive messages from Outlook that the "Assignments have been updated..." emails are undeliverable.

Or, do I also need to remove their email address from the (inactive) user record to stop the emails?

    Thanks,

  • Hello Andy, If would be a nice enhancment for project server to stop sending messages, but this lets the project manager know that he still has assignments to the inactive user with remaining work. Using the team build you need to replace the inactive resource with an active resource and you should set any remaining hours to zero for the inactive resource. This should stop the emails. Cheers!
