Can we have two named instances of SQL running on same box? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

Can we have two named instances of SQL running on same box?  One for each version of CRM 4.0 & 2011?  I could add a second NAMED instance other than the default instance.

    Regards

  • Hi,

Yes it is possible, you can create two SQL Server names Instance (or also can use default and one named), one can be used by CRM 4.0 and second can be used by CRM 2011. Make sure to also select different/or cretae seprate OU in Active Directory for each version.
