User threads not in order of latest reply RRS feed

  • Question

  • I often use user threads to keep track of ill-doers and I keep a couple of sessions open.

When I do this with a forum, the forum is regularly updated with the latest replies to earlier questions and these then move (along with new questions) to the top of the page. So in order to keep track of answers / new posts in any one forum I just need to keep that page open and visible.

I saw today that this dos not happen for a user thread. A poster I had earlier deleted from a thread there for posting an off-topic ad pretending to be a third-party recommendation (which unfortunately as Moderators can see deleted posts is still listed for him - Later: these posts are still listed when accessing without being logged in) had posted again a few hours ago. That post did not move up the list and was hidden about ten items down. Luckily I saw that he had posted to it and could do yet another delete.

(Note: I am assuming that a refresh of the page would have moved that reply up. I am however not 100% convinced of that but I am restricting my comment to the 100% known fact - that a post made by a user 2 hours ago was NOT moved to the top of his User Threads page.)

  • By the description, it sounds like a byproduct of the replication issues we're working to resolve with an upcoming patch release. This patch build has just gone to test.

  • Hi Mike,
could be the same issue I see sometimes, if I select My Threads.
The answers are sometimes not well sorted (latest reply on top, but wildly mixed).

  • I am also seeing this sorting issue.  I rely on My Threads to see what/where I might need to add a reply, and with it out of sort, I can't do that.

    Cheers.
