On my Windows XP Professional SP2 Dell OEM install, WGA works fine over the web using the IE plugin, however, when I attempt to use the "alternate validation method", which downloads genuinecheck.exe and then is supposed to give a code to copy back to the browser, it never works. I constantly get the following error:
---------------------------
Windows Genuine Advantage

Code not available. The validation code could not be obtained. This may be due to technical difficulties, or you may be running an unsupported operating system. Please close this window and attempt the validation process again, or use the Back button in your Web browser to return to the download details page. [Error code: 0x8004026f]

When I run MGAdiag.exe, I get the following:

The part that worries me is the code=0. Is this normal? Might this be what is causing the problem? Thanks in advance for any help. This doesn't totally hinder any wga-required downloads, however, I would like to resolve it so it does not become a problem in the future.
