VB6 install failure

Due to a hard drive failure I have to install my VB6 program on a new drive. I installed XPPro SP3 on a new drive and updated all of the windows software. The first program I tried to install on the new drive is VB6 and it failed! The installation went normally until it reached the point of "updating your system", but then the installation failed with the notice "Microsoft Setup Tool has encountered a problem" with an error signature in acmsetup.exe.

What do I do to get VB6 to install?

Vb6 is no more supported here, you may want to go to one of the forms below which supports VB6

Did you look at Event Logs? Maybe there is a detailed information for it.
