Configuring Email Router for CRM 2011

Question
-
Hello,
I have just successfully upgraded to CRM 2011 but now i am having great difficulty in configuring the email router.
I am running Exchange 2007 on the same computer as CRM. Exchange is working fine, my account is sending and receiving emails. In IIS i have two websites, one external facing with a binding to 443 https://external.com that has the owa, autodiscover, ews, activesync virtual directories. The other website is internal and only bound to 80 with a host header http://internal.local. This has the exadmin, exchange, exchweb, owa virtual directories. With this setup how should i configure the email router?
Everything i do it either gives 405 method not allowed or that the users doesn't have a mailbox (which the user does).
Any thoughts?

And see if that helps or gives any hint!

Did you follow the steps laid out in the implementation guide?

Thank you both for your help. The article above that talks about adding the registry key was very useful. I had already come across it and followed the intructions but thank you none the less.
After more fiddling i added the Exchange2003or2000 virtual directories to the main external facing exchange website and then configured the router to use WebDAV and the address as https://mail.external.com and now seems to work fine.
