back up restore

  My PC crashed, I think I was running money 2000, but not sure.  I have a recent back up file on a memory stick.  I installed a new money file (2003) from a CD on another computer, but I can not restore the back up file.  I get a message that says money has encountered problems and must be shut down.  Can you help?
