Microsoft CRM Asynchronous Processing Service dependency on SQL Server RRS feed

  • Question

  • I moved the CRM SQL Database from OldServer to NewServer following the steps described in “Move the Microsoft Dynamics CRM databases to another SQL Server and SQL Server Reporting Services server in the same domain, and leave the Microsoft Dynamics CRM Server on the existing server” at http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/952934.

I kept the CRM Server on OldServer.

Now, when I try to stop SQL Server on OldServer, it also stops the Microsoft CRM Asynchronous Processing Service.

Where can I tell the CRM Asynchronous Processing Service to look for the SQL Server on NewServer from now on instead of OldServer?

I want to uninstall SQL Server from OldServer.

  • you need to go to following things:

go to regedit, change CRM registration  "configdb", "database", "metabase", "SQLRSServerURL"

deployment manager, stop the organization and re-point it to the new server.

  • It worked!

I've deleted the value for "DependOnService" from HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\MSCRMAsyncService  and restarted the server.

    Thanks for your help!
