It looks like you may recently have done a BIOS update? If so, see if there’s a Win7- the one you got has no SLIC table, which is required to self-activate the OEM_SLP License. ( I can’t find one myself – but you may want to contact ASUS for assistance)If not, then Change the Product Key to the one on the COA sticker on the case of your machine, using the Change Product Key link at the bottom of the System properties page, – you may have to activate by phone

OK – let’s forget the BIOS update/reversion, as changing the Key is easier :)On the case of your computer there is a Windows COA sticker, with your personal Windows 7 Home Premium Key. Copy it to a piece of paper carefully (this saves having to turn the thing upside down every 5 seconds when you input the Key)Now click on the Start button, and then right-click on Computer – select Properties from the dropdown menuThe System properties window should come up.scroll down to the bottom of the page, and there should be a Change Product Key link in blue – click on that (which will open a wizard) and follow the instructions to enter the Key you wrote down, and then activate it.That’s all there is to it.If you need to activate by telephone it should offer the wizard for that (once it’s failed internet activation). If it doesn’t activate, then you need to speak to an operator.....telephone activation (operator calls)Click on the Start button
in the Search box, type
SLUI 4
and hit the Enter key
follow the instructions - but when asked which service you require by the telephone ansafone, do NOT reply - this should force an operator to respond, who can deal with you.

That’s fine – you may want to clear the last minor error message by going to www.microsoft.com/genuine/validate to validate Windows – when it passes, you'll be offered MSE and IE9 – you don’t have to take them :)Good luck!

Hi I bought my computer from Future shop a little over a year ago, and everything was working fine until today this message appeared on my desktop in the bottom right hand corner. "windows7 build 7601 is not genuine" I turned off my computer and when I restarted it, the message was gone but now it came back. Please help.

Most Non-Genuine issue look the same regardless of the true underlying cause. So to help minimize the confusion caused by troubleshooting multiple different issues, we ask that all users creat their own thread for thier own specific issue.
In other words, please do not post "Me Too" messages in other people's threads.
