auto scheduled tasks with Windows Vista RRS feed

    Accidentally read that on 7/20 the scheduled clean up occured and that I had  many thousands of files of which zero were deleted.  What is a file?  I have not created that many files.  Does every game I play or every search I do create a file???  Are search histories considered a file?  It said the next sceduled clean up is 8/20/2010.  In the interest of cleaning  up  why are all these files on my computer and how can I clean it up?  Confused  Thank you
