Academic Office 2007 Version - Validation Status Blocked? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm getting crashes in Access 2007 and it recommends that I get an update but I'm blocked from the updates because the validation is blocked?

  • DdogCap,

The analysis of the diag report tool came back with the following:

Office Professional XP with FrontPage - Blocked by Microsoft

    Office Enterprise 2007 - Genuine

Office Project Standard 2007 - Trial Version (60 day period)

Unfortunately, the product key used to install the Office Professional XP with Frontpage is a Volume License Key (VLK) that has been blocked per the request of the legal VLK holder.   This product key is Microsoft's corporate key and has therefore been blocked from use. If this key is being used, you may need to contact your internal IT department to obtain the correct product key assigned to your corporation, if that is the case. Otherwise Office Professional XP with Frontpage needs to be removed from the computer.

Please revalidate at  http://www.microsoft.com/genuine/diag/ with Office Enterprise 2007 and Office Project Standard 2007 to see if that will resolve the update issue with Access 2007.  If not, you can also go the the Windows Update forum for help at :

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/expertzone/newsgroups/reader.mspx?dg=microsoft.public.windowsupdate&lang=en&cr=US  and post what exactly is causing the problem. This forum specializes with WU problems.

Again, we are sorry to hear about your situation with regard to the blocked VLK Office Professional XP with Frontpage. Please be sure to backup or otherwise offload any data from the hard disk because a clean installation/reimaging will destroy all personal user data on the hard drive. Please don't hesitate re-posting if you need further assistance.

  • Your MGA reports shows the following:

Office Status: 114 Blocked VLK 2
Microsoft Office XP Professional with FrontPage - 114 Blocked VLK 2

Once you uninstall this non-genuine copy of Microsoft Office XP, you should be able to visit http://www.microsoft.com/genuine/office/whyvalidate.aspx and validate properly.
