Another Windows Installation Suddenly Gone Wrong RRS feed

  • After about two years of using this machine (Dell, with Windows 7 factory installed) without incident, I'm suddenly being told--again and again--that it isn't the genuine article. Aside from the regular Windows updates, there have been no operating system upgrades or replacements. When I follow the instructions to resolve the problem on line, a Windows activation update program downloads but consistently fails to install (error 0xc8000247). So what's going on?
