IP Address should be recorded for non-meaning Issues! RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

Plz notice this man (because I've received some letters about this issue, very very annoying!!!)

    qwelkjqwk qwkehkqw

In the Visual C#, he is always sending something like "

    LUCKNOW ESCORT$ SERVICES 09792515773 AGRA N.

    "Why???

I've noticed this thing several times, and some customers have replied to me by sending private letters about that!

So would any Microsoft employee or moderator record every customer's IP Address or notice this man?

    Reguards!

  • It seems the man's spammed issues are all deleted by someone else……

But I see this issue happen in the place several times with anoymous name. So we'd better create something that to force the users to obey the rules by recording their IP or do something useful.

    Any ideas?

  • Your Chinese characters name and Chinese characters signature block is offensive on an English language forum.

Find a Chinese language forum if you are not willing to change to English writing.

According to this, is my Swissgerman name also offensive on English language forums? I mean...

    The following is my signature:

Powershell Programmer & Advanced Lua Programmer

    Location: Switzerland

Not really. Actually you have a superb Swissgerman name.

Using Chinese characters on this English language forum is offensive.

Your name is still in Chinese characters.

I feel like I am on another planet.  How is a Chinese character name or signature block in any way offensive?  Nothing in the name or signature block was inappropriate when translated.

  • >I feel like I am on another planet.  How is a Chinese character name in any way offensive?

Here is the simple answer: use English, this is an English language forum. There is a drop-down menu to select other languages forums:

Using Chinese at this English language forum is offensive, arrogant and disrespectful to the United States of America.

  • Ummm, wow.  There are a lot of people from all over the world who use this forum.  IMO using a name and/or signature block that is in another set of characters is in no way offensive, disrespectful or arrogant to anyone.  As I said before, none of the names or signature text was in any way at all inappropriate.  That is my opinion, you are welcome to your own of course, but you do not run or own this forum and are in no position to demand anyone change their name or signature.

    .

At any rate, I am over and out on this topic.

  • When I see spam, I flag the post using "Report As Abuse", to flag moderators to delete the post. If I am moderator, I delete the posst. I also look at the user's activities, and if none are legitimate, I report the user to be banned using the links on this page:

    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/5041.how-to-ban-or-report-a-technet-or-msdn-user-account.aspx

They usually ban the user within a few hours.

Also, I've never heard anyone complain about user names before, as long as they are not abusive. And, when I use the drop down to convert into another language, that has no affect on the user name or the text of the post. And, is there any conversion from other languages into English? I believe that has been a complaint for some time.

  • Hi Richard,

When I objected to the use of Chinese on this English language forum, the OP had a 5-line signature block in Chinese which he removed subsequently.

    No

It's none of your business whether a name is a Chinese character or not. Do you think name will effect the body contents?

If you insist, I have to say that why we should code in English?

    Won't you?!
