invoice record is not created after invoicing contract RRS feed

  • Hi,

    We have no connection to a microsoft backoffice system for creating a real invoice. We don't neet it. All we need are invoice records that are automatically created after activating/invoicing a contract with 1 or more contract lines. Is this possible or is the "invoice the contract" feature of the contract just a label that will not create seperate invoice records in the invoice list?

    After creating a contract with a billing freq of 1 month, duration of 3 years and adding a contractline to it and finally invoicing the contract I expected to see these invoice records, but that is not the case.

  • Unfortunately you have guessed correctly. Theinvoicing feature is just a placeholder. This being said, you could use workflow to generate an invoice record without too much problem I think.

  • That's bad luck. Thank you Leon.

    As far as the workflow trick is concerend, I have thought about that already. My problem with this is however, that the contract needs to be invoiced monthly for 3 years, thus multiple invoices have to be created depending on the billing frequency and the billing start and end date. I have not found a way to automatically create multiple invoice records while taking these factors into account.

    Is there a way that you know?

  • We heavily customised our CRM system to provide monthly, quarterly or annual invoices based on parameters configured in the sales order. You could do the same based on parameters provided in the contract but it might be slightly more difficult because contract lines have no relationship to invoice line items, whereas order line items and invoice line items are both based on products.
