Fix it Center Installation RRS feed

  • Question

  • It went through the usual download and install procedure and was told it had been installed.  I then had the Troubleshooters window appear which had an "Install" button for each item rather than "Run".  Pressing these resulted in the error message "Input string was not in the correct format".  I went through the download/install procedure again with the same result during which I received a message telling me Fix it Centre was already installed and did I want to reinstall it.

Operating system-Windows XP Version 2002, Service Pack 3 in a Dell computer.

  • Dear Customer,

Thanks for you interest in Microsoft Fixit Center(Beta).

After installing Microsoft Ficit Center on Windows XP, It will take about 15 seconds to copy the troubleshooter from downloaded location to the stored location, during this period, Microsoft Fixit Center can't detect the troubleshooter on the stored location, so it appears an "Install" button for each item rather than "Run". In that case, you don't need to reinstall the troubleshooter, please restart Microsoft Fixit Center(close and reopen), all button will appear "Run".

If you still have any doubt of this issue, please let me know.

  • Dear Customer,

Maybe Microsoft Fixit Center(Beta) was not setup correctly, or the setup file was not the latest version. Could you please uninstall Microsoft Fixit Center(Beta) and download the latest installation file from http://fixitcenter.support.microsoft.com/Portal, then try a setup. If the issue still exists, please let me know!
