CRM4 queue does not receive email from Exchange 2007 Distribution Groups

Question

Hi,
I have a problem where my CRM 4 Queue does not receive emails sent to an Exchange 2007 Distribution Group, though it does receive emails if sent directly to the queue email address.
We have a typical helpdesk email support with DGs set up in Exchange 2007 that forward the customer issue submission emails to our support staff. With MS CRM 4 we intend to automate the ticket creation by using Queues and workflows on the new email items in there. We plan to add the Queue email address to all relevant Exchange DGs (did set up Email Router) and expect the customer emails to arrive in the CRM queue as well as the inbox of the support staff.
Is this some sort of an Exchange 2007 DG permission problem or more something with CRM 4? Does it filter out DG emails?
BTW, we see the exact same situation if we try to send emails via Sympa mailinglist server: if emails come from a Sympa list, they don't seem to arrive in CRM Queue, but if we send diorectly [to the Queue email address], it does.
Anyone seen this?
Regards,
Peter

Hi Peter,
please take a look at the following links and enable the tracing of the e-mail router. http://blogs.msdn.com/benlec/archive/2008/05/05/troubleshooting-crm-e-mail-issues-in-microsoft-crm-4-0.aspx, http://blogs.msdn.com/benlec/archive/2008/03/25/how-to-implement-logging-for-the-microsoft-crm-4-0-e-mail-connector.aspx and http://blogs.msdn.com/benlec/archive/2008/12/23/incoming-e-mails-are-not-tracked-in-crm.aspx
The log should contain some information, wether the router cannot check for new emails or if it is a problem with tracking the mails in crm.- Proposed as answer by Donna EdwardsMVP Monday, October 12, 2009 2:32 PM

Is your Email router working fine?
Test it by launching it and running the test under deployment tab of email router.

Same scenerio with us and i am able to drop emails in queue sent to DL :)
at least add one user (user of DL) in e-mail router profile and authenticate on behalf of DL.
thanks
