Editing forms - Adding account as an option in a field RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi Guys

Probably a simple question, however I'm still fairly new to Dynamics CRM

I've created a new account in which its relationship type is a vendor.

When a user creates a new opportunity they have the option of selecting a field called 'Vendor'. This provides them with a drop down list of available vendors. What I want to do is add the vendor I've created to this list.

I've went to customise the system and select the entity 'Opportunity'. I then select form and select the field properties of 'Vendor'. Under the tab 'Details' I can choose to add a new vendor to the list. I can do this, however does this need to link any way to the account I have created?

    I hope this makes sense.

    Thanks

    Lindtt

  • Hi Lindtt,

For creating a vendor option set, use value as a global pick list. Create same field on account entity using same global pick list.

Now go to the relationship between account and opportunity. you can find this on 1:N relationship in account entity customization.

Click on Mappings, and map that field between account and opportunity. it's will then copy down the value to target.

    Hope it helps.

    Thanks and regards,
