Windows 7 64 bit won't Verify as Genuine. RRS feed

  • Question

  • I've used the diagnostic and got this report (after following the suggestion in this thread. My Windows product key fell off my computer case and I put it somewhere... which I can't seem to locate, although so far nothing has actually asked for it. http://www.microsoft.com/genuine/validate/ takes me directly to a page to repurchase Windows 7 which I see no want nor need of, as I already own it and should still have access to updates.
I will note about 3 weeks ago I replaced the standard harddrive in the computer with a new one, but Windows didn't give me any problems till now. Before then Windows 7 was reporting as genuine and I had no issue updating windows for the past year (approx time I've owned this laptop).

The set of file mismatches above are typical of one of two causes:-
    1) a restore from an image backup of the system
    2) a failed driver update
The only one for which we currently have a solution is the second.....
Installing the Intel Rapid Storage Drivers
try downloading and installing them from here -
    - you’ll need the set for the x64 (64-bit) platform on Win7
Once complete, please reboot twice, then post another MGADiag report.
    Good Luck!
