Hi, i just discovered Windows Live Mesh WLM can sync files between my computers over my home LAN and not just over the internet. I basically had a nerdgasm when i found this out. I have a laptop and desktop and when im out and about i like to have my most
recent music, pictures and docs on my laptop.
So i decided to use mesh to sync these.
Upon duplicating my music folder on both computers and then adding it to mesh, i ended up with quite a few duplicated files made by mesh with the laptop name added to the end of the file name.
Weird :S
Well i just did a search for the laptop name and found all the duplicate music files, i exited mesh on both PCs and deleted all the duplicates, then started up mesh again, no files were synced in the following 5 mins that i observed the folder and
as far as i can tell, there are no duplicates anymore.
I think this is a problem that the Windows Live Team should look into because WLMesh is a one of a kind program. Its the only program of its kind that does what it does and does it so well, that said if it could fix this one problem, it would be near
damn perfect!!
If anyone can tell me how to keep this from happening or a practical workaround with no micromanagement of my files i'd love to hear it.
Thanks for any help you can toss me and keep up the good work.
