Trouble with restored client RRS feed

  • Question

  • I've recently encountered a issue which required the restore of  am XP desktop.  After creating a new WHS restore CD from the MS download, I've been able to restore several different backups, all with the same result.

After restore, the SP system starts the boot up seqence.  It actually finds the harddrive and gives me the prompt to "Start normally" and other options, like safe mode, safe mode with command prompt or safe mode with network, and last known good config..

If I select any option, or let the 30 second default proceed, the system will restart...  no BSOD, just acts like a C-A-D command..

If I select safe mode, the screen fills with one page of loading *.sys files, then restarts..   I use AVG AV, and initially an AVG.sys file was the last one on the safe mode start up screen so I assume AVG may be the culprit--but after removing all AVG start up commands using the AVG rescue disk, the results were the same..

At this point I can't determine if I have a WHS restore issue or a hardware issue with one client..  any ideas?

Thanks in advance for any assistance..  Bruce
