Change in Motherboard - Windows Vista (TM) Build 6002 This copy of windows is not genuine RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I have an HP Pavilion dv9700 Notebook PC with Windows Vista Home premium pre-installed at the time of purchase from HP. Recently I've had some problems with my laptop and had to have my motherboard changed at an authorised HP service center. Within 2 days of using the laptop with the new motherboard (after the latest automatic windows updates) I've started encountering messages about the Windows installed not being genuine. I've run the Windows Genuine Advantage Diagnostic tool but am not able to copy the output due to the following error, "Failed to create output files, hr=0x8007000d. Please contact support". The diagnostic report is typed below for your reference.

To properly analyse and solve problems with Activation and Validation, we need to see a full copy of the report produced by the MGADiag tool (download and save to desktop - http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012 )
    Once saved, run the tool.
Click on the Continue button, which will produce the report.
To copy the report to your response, click on the Copy button in the tool (ignore any error messages at this point), and then paste (using either r-click/Paste, or Ctrl+V ) into your response.
