Private IP NetID RRS feed

  • Hi,

    I want to ask,

    while is in the C IP Class Range,

    and C IP Class is /24,

    but why we use 192.168 Private IP range in /16 ?

    thanks in Advanced

    by the way, I am completely new in technet,

    if here is not the right place for this question

    please tell me where should I place this kinda questions

  • The following are the private IP address ranges:        -  (10/8 prefix)      -  (172.16/12 prefix)     - (192.168/16 prefix)


    Anything within this range is considered as private IP address.. You can read more info in the RFC 1918
