  • Hi,

    I want to ask,

    while 192.168.0.0 is in the C IP Class Range,

    and C IP Class is /24,

    but why we use 192.168 Private IP range in /16 ?

    by the way, I am completely new in technet,

    please tell me where should I place this kinda questions

  • The following are the private IP address ranges:

    10.0.0.0        -   10.255.255.255  (10/8 prefix)

    172.16.0.0      -   172.31.255.255  (172.16/12 prefix)

    192.168.0.0     -   192.168.255.255 (192.168/16 prefix)

     

    Anything within this range is considered as private IP address.. You can read more info in the RFC 1918
