Remote access and home-server reinstallation RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello - I had to re-install my Windows Home Server (don't ask - my stupid mistake) and I'd like to re-enable remote access.  Trouble is, the remote domain name that I'd like to use is "already taken" by my first Home Server installation.  Is there any way to release the old domain name registration so that I can re-use it for my reinstallation?
    Thanks
    Eric

  • You should be able to reclaim the vanity URL by simply re-using the Live ID you used the first time.
I'm not on the WHS team, I just post a lot. :)

  • Hi Ken

Thanks for the response... Ya know, I thought I tried that - but looked at again and got things all set up correctly.

    Thanks for the post.
